Wow.. what a year its been. Theatre Brantford's Dear Santa was a marvelous success thanks to the hard work of a very talented cast.

July, 23, 2006

Salt Water Moon has opened to wonderful reviews.

"Theatre Brantford has reclaimed its place of distinction in the city's cultural scene."

"a finely nuanced rendition of one of Canada's most beautifully written plays"

"Dalloway, as 18-year-old Jacob Mercer, completely captivated"

"(Heather) Bailey, as the lovely but iron-willed 17-year-old Mary Snow, was riveting"

"Bailey inventively fleshed out this young woman's fear of further loss with brilliant flashes of searching naiveté, playful wit and a sense of underlying hunger for love. Her performance was beautifully edgy and fully realized with a quixotic sense of timing."

Rehearsals have started for Theatre Brantford's upcoming production of Salt Water Moon, a heart warming tale of lost love set in Coley's Point, Newfoundland on a warm summer night in August. The play tells the story of young Jacob Mercer who has just returned from a year in Toronto and is seeking to win back the girl he left behind. But Mary Snow has become engaged to the son of a wealthy local business tycoon, and will not be easily wooed. A wonderful story with Rich Dallaway and Heather Bailey in the roles of Jacob Mercer and Mary Snow. Not to be missed. Tickets are on sale at the Sanderson Centre Box office .

Ed and Jo are are back from a wonderful trip to Bangalore, India where they visited Janis and did a few shows. Janis made enough arrangements ahead of time to ensure they were kept busy, and kept singing. The people of Bangalore threw out the welcome mat, and according to Ed "fed us very very well".

On December 31st they performed at a school just outside of Bangalore for about 200 kids. They also performed an evening concert on January 4th, 2006 in Bangalore to a full house at Guru Nanak Bhavan (Guru Nanak Hall). Ed, Janis and Jo were featured in all three of Bangalore's English language newspapers. To view the newspaper article that appeared in the Bangalore, Hindu clic here

Ed has recently been appointed Artistic Director of Theatre Brantford, and will be guiding this dynamic company through its upcoming Spring and Fall productions. This appointment gives Ed the opportunity to re-visit his other love....the theatre.

Theatre Brantford presented Norm Foster's 'Dear Santa' on December 21st, 22nd and 23rd 2005 at the magnificent Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts. The production was a wonderful success. Thanks to all those who saw it, and special thanks to Nick Degelder for his help on this show.

Here's what the audience had to say about Dear Santa

It was terrific!  Great fun - we all enjoyed it and got several giggles.  Gotta say that Lou from Detroit was my favourite character.  He was positively hot in that white suit!

Congratulations to the entire cast. Everyone did a marvelous job, and
looked like they were at ease and enjoying themselves.

Special mention for the outstanding performance by Rob Pooler and Phoebe
Diab.
