Oct, 2010

Time for an update. What a GREAT summer we had. The Festival of Friends in Hamilton was a highlight, where Jo and I had the opportunity to run tech for the workshop stage, and perform in the workshops as well. We met lots of fine musicians, the weather was as close to perfect as you could ask, and with the exception of a one tiny incident with a wayward golf cart and a speaker tower, the weekend was fabulous from start to finish.

We also had a chance to visit Nova Scotia and perform in a wee town hall in Scotsburn on Canada day, as well as attend the Stan Rogers Folk Festival in Canso where we heard Cheryl Wheeler, Bruce Guthro and a few other favourites. Wonderful festival.

Topped the summer off with a visit to Summerfolk in Owen Sound. Jo followed "Baskery" around all weekend, and I was thrilled to hear "Red Horse", a trio consisting of Elyza Gilkison, Lucy Kaplansky and John Gorka.

We have a bit of a break this fall as we gear up for next year. Time to upgrade and repair the audio gear, and prepare for next year, which will include trips to and performances in Haifa, Israel,  and Plum Lake, Wisconsin.

Recording for a new CD has begun, but as is usually the case, there will be no promises for a release date, other than 2011.

Would love to hear from you - even if its just to drop a note and say hi. You can email us through here, or find us on facebook under "Ed VandenDool".
